  1. Introspection Original Dutch pressing of Thijs van Leer's best selling "Introspection" album. Liner notes by Willem Duys: It seems unfair that some people are so much more talented than others. THIJS VAN LEER is one of those evrycontsongvagapawelvenewsmactio.coinfo-usually gifted musicians. He could have been a concert pianist for instance.

  3. 99% of prospective buyers will come to this album via Thijs Van Leer's contributions to Focus. Here Van Leer plays only flute. There is no piano, no organ, nor even any yodeling. The setting is very largely classical -- Bach, Faure, Handel Granados etc. Even the renditions of 'Focus II' and 'Focus III' are made to sound as if they were Baroque.

  7. Among the 18 tracks are some well known classics, as well as Van Leer's original compositions (Focus I, II, III, Mild Wild Rose, Carmen Elysium) and a few by Van Otterloo. Soprano Letty de Jong adds some wonderful vocals, especially on Focus II. Thijs was 24 years old when Introspection I came out.5/5(1).
  8. I assume for contractual reasons this was billed as Jan Akkerman and Thijs van Leer though calling it FOCUS certainly gave a big clue to the destination This album is for me less in the style of Focus of the 's more in the style of Jan Akkerman's solo efforts of the 80's and 90's, less rock more jazz/5(15).
